Jenzi Art Gallery (JAG) was founded by internationally acclaimed Canadian contemporary artist Jenz Shifu. He is the pioneer of Iconographic Art, in which he integrates traditional Oriental practices with contemporary art forms in his works. Joyce Zheng, executive director of JAG, is a Canadian-born upcoming young musician who has received her Bachelors of Music Performance degree at the University of Toronto. Joyce is committed to bridging traditional music with contemporary art appreciation. Among the board, there is a cross-generational belief that art upholds a critical role in representing the history and cultures within a multicultural society. This belief is rooted in combining artistic traditions from the past with the contemporary advances of the present and future.
Our gallery aims to advance public appreciation of the arts dedicated to exhibiting, preserving, and celebrating works that reflect both traditional heritage and contemporary artistic expression from diverse cultural communities. We act as a vessel in promoting intercultural understanding and dialogue through the arts, fostering respect, inclusivity, and shared identity in a multicultural society.
We host accessible programs to provide education and inspiration to the public with events such as exhibitions, artist talks, lectures, and workshops that explore the evolving relationship between traditional and modern art forms.
